Heraldic Pottery

Heraldic Pottery

As you have likely gathered if you have read some of our other posts we are both members of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). Each member of the SCA is encouraged to create a heraldic device (think of it like a logo). These devices are unique among the members and when placed on banners or other items can be used to quickly identify the individual, their items, or their camp.

One of the more common items that I am asked to make, and that I like to gift are pieces of ceramics with their personal heraldry on it. This not only gives them a one of a kind item, but can help the item return to it’s owner if it is inadvertently left somewhere.

I will use this page to showcase some images of some of these heraldic items, and as I continue to make more I will add them to this page. I hope you enjoy looking at them and enjoying the uniqueness that represents some of the different members of our group.
